How it started
The world's first all-pink padel court opened at Frontera Padel Club in Tijuana: an adidas court in Full Pink. The idea came from club co-founder Christina Romero, who had leukaemia herself as a child.
Part of the court's income went to the Mujeres por Mujeres foundation, which supports women with breast cancer. On top of that came charity tournaments and tournaments for International Women's Day.
Pink Movement Network
Clubs in Cyprus, Germany, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands and the USA now play on pink adidas courts. Any adidas court can join the network. In Nieuwkoop in the Netherlands, for example, all four courts at the HAL0172 club are pink.
Taking part in Germany
On 19 October, Breast Cancer Awareness Day, the AFP Courts logo – normally black and white – turns pink too.
